What girl at Lansing High would not want to be in my place right now?
Spilling the Sundae
Hey, you're doing great.
Why would he pick a gopher over me?
Millicent had just woken up in the cellar of Betsy Johnson's house. She was still recovering from being pelted with eggs by the sisters in the sorority. She then flashes back to how she ended up in such a humiliating state.
"Heather birds eyebrows on toast
Louise and Millicent are at the drug store enjoying lemonade and ice cream. The 2 girls were "spilling the Sundae" (meaning gossiping) about Tracy and the three black balls, keeping her from joining the sorority.
Entertainment every week? What does that entail...?
Herb Dalton tries to talk to Millicent at lunch. After an attempt, Bev tries to steer him away but but it doesn't work. Millicent doesn't have any side thoughts of the odd encounter.
I won't be in the sorority....
Once Millicent gets her older sister, the conflict starts to be accepted into the sorority. She is initiated to ask everyone on the bus what they had for breakfast. When she gets the last man on the he replied "Heather birds eyebrows in toast" It makes her laugh and wonder more about the birds
Millicent is talking with Laine Morris, when she is told that every week a sister has to entertain each other, which foreshadows back to Millicent current situation.
Millicent has now fully remembered how she ended up where she was, and now she has a choice, to accept or quit. She chooses to quit, with the heather birds singing as she went upstairs. (The theme was to find yourself or individuality rather than mask yourself in popularity)
