Steve helps you explore the earth

Storyboard Text

  • Man, this town is boring, isn't it? Let's do something more fun.
  • This guy right here is Earth! The top layer that we all live on is called the crust.
  • As we dig deeper, we come across the 2nd layer, the mantle! This sits right beneath the Earth's crust.
  • Adventure time
  • Ooh, better off if we don't go to the outer core. That place is filled with hot melted metals, you could be swimming in them!
  • The Earth's crust takes up around 1% of the Earth's total mass, making it the least thick layer out of the 4. We live on the continental crust, while the layer beneath the ocean is called the oceanic crust. These two types of crusts make up the crust as a whole.
  • Same with the outer core, we can't even go to the inner core if we wanted to. That thing's solid!
  • The mantle is the thickest layer of the Earth! The deeper you go, the more pressure and the more heat you'll feel. Here you can find things such as iron, silicon, and aluminum.
  • And that concludes our little adventure! A little science can always spice up your life!
  • The outer core is the 3rd layer of the Earth. This core is so hot, that it has melted all the nickel and iron contained inside! This layer is in charge of creating the magnetic field. This shields us from the sun's solar rays, which can be damaging to the Earth.
  • The outer core is the 4th and final layer of the Earth. This layer has the power to also make metal melt due to its intense heat. But because of the insane amounts of pressure, this turns the metal into a solid mass.
  • Adventure concluded
