  • The British governor Charles Lawrence demanded the Acadians to sign the oath of allegiance. So, the Acadians can fight with the French when they come upon war.
  • I demand you all sign the oath of allegiance. You shall then always side with the British.
  • Agree to the treaty!
  • Many Acadians refused to sign the treaty, so, they got expelled to far off lands.
  • Then be expelled!
  • I refuse!
  • The Acadians got rounded up then deported to present day USA. One-third of the ships did not reach their destinations. Families were separated, making it nearly impossible to find each other again. The expulsion lasted for 8 years.
  • MOM!! HELP!!
  • Some of the Acadians escaped into forests or they found refuge with the french. Some, people died in  the forest, because they starved to death.
  • HURRY UP!! Or else they will find us.
  • After the Acadians left, the Britishers destroyed their houses. So the Acadians had no reason to return to Acadia.
  •  I am destroying the houses. Now, there is no reason for the acadians to return.
  • The Acadians reached the new land scared and lost.
  • Hello, What happened?
  • It was terrible and... and... MY CHILDREN!! I hope they are ok!
