My name is Diab Catoni Thomas and I immigrated to Virginia from Mtein, in Lebanon, in 1892.
Mtein flourished in the 18th century due to the rise of the silk industry in Lebanon.
In America I have worked for nine years peddling dry goods.
In 1901 I returned to Lebanon, where I got married with Mary Ramah and I had two sons.
I am Selene
I have worked in a textile factory after my father broke my back when I was nine.
I am Alene
In 1907 we returned to Virginia, where I opened a succesfull general store.
In America we had nine more children, for a total of five daughters and six sons.
