The Minor Canon talks to the Griffin and brings him to the church.
The Griffin looks at his stone image day after day and finds it fascinating.
The townspeople are angry and want the Griffin to go far away and never return. The minor canon ends up leaving because he is upset.
The Griffin takes over teaching for the minor canon. He makes it an interesting experience for the students.
As the autumnal equinox is here, the Griffin goes and gets the Minor Canon. He returns to the town waking up realizing the Griffin is gone. The Griffin does not eat and ends up starving himself.
