  • And were on! Good evening on Channel 56 News , we are at Downtown Atlanta were the event of the 1906 Atlanta Race Riot 
  • The 1906 Race Riot, caused the death of at least twenty-five African Americans because of series of alleged articles about African American male attacks on multiple white women. This triggered a gang of white males to storm to Atlanta and attack and kill any black they saw on September twenty-second and September twenty-fourth. 
  • we have a poor witness here to tell us exactly what went down yesterday.

  • Hello my name is Paula Mcdean and I witnessed the horrific events of the 1906 Atlanta race riot I was on my way to the bus station and i witnessed the brother getting beating by the white gang and I knew he was on the verge of dying.
  • why did you choose to run?
  • In that moment i didn't know if I should help the brother or run I was so terrified and I knew he would die either way so I choose to run. and if I helped i knew they wouldn't hesitate to kill me and no one would take care of my two little boys.
