  • Monkeys are rarely infected, but when they are infected, they perish much more quickly than humans. In fact, one study 9/10 monkeys developed symptoms or died within 20 days.

  • Marsupials and monotremes have too low a body temperature to contract rabies.

  • Symptoms include stubbornness, aggression, head-pressing, lameness, colic, fever, muscle spasms, and circling. Paralytic Rabies includes difficulty swallowing and drooping of the mandible.

  • A cow attacked several people in Maharastha, India, hospitalizing at least one person. The Resq team from Pune was requested to capture it.
  • Despite being rarely infected with rabies, in the 1880s, Louis Pasteur experimented on rabbits to develop the first rabies vaccine. Ironically, there's still no rabies vaccine for rabbits themselves. Within rabbits, the virus takes 12-21 days to incubate.
