  • Hi There, I am Nellie Tayloe Ross, the first women to be elected as a governor in the United States! I was Governor of Wyoming from 1925 to 1927, and pushed boundaries for women's roles in America.

  • Hi! I am Elizabeth Robinson, an American athlete and the first female gold medalist in a track and field event during the olympics. I made my debut at the 1928 Amsterdam olympics, the first to open up track and field and gymnastics events to women!
  • Elizabeth helped gain respect for women not only in America, but all around the world in the field of athletics, and proved that anyone is capable of anything they set their minds to, no matter their gender.
  • I am Bessie Smith, "Empress of Blues," one of the most popular blues singers of the 1920's! my record, "Down-Hearted Blues" made me one of the highest paid blues singers in the country. I helped pave the road for women and African Americans in the musical field!
