Storyboard Text

  • "But a terrible change came over our step-father about this time."
  • "Tell me, Helen. Have you ever heard anyone whistle in the dead of the night?"
  • "No, I have not. It must be those wretched gipsies in the plantation"
  • "Oh, my God! Helen! It was the band! The speckled band!"
  • Helen Stoner visits Sherlock Holmes and Watson to help her through her fears of Dr. Roylott and what has happened to her family, especially Julia.
  • "Your conversation is most entertaining."
  • "Holmes the Scotland Yard jack-in-office!"
  • For the last few nights, Julia has been hearing a low clear whistle at about 3 in the morning. She asked Helen if she heard it but Helen seemed to not hear anything in her sleep.
  • "What can it mean?"
  • "You see it, Watson? You see it?"
  • Helen heard a scream and ran to Julia's room. There she sees Julia in terror and Julia died right in front of her.
  • "It is a swamp adder! The deadliest snake in India."
  • Dr. Roylott barges into Holmes's office and starts saying bad things about Sherlock and wants to know what they told Helen right now. Sherlock and Watson keep their cool and stay calm.
  • While Sherlock Holmes and Watson are hiding in Helen's room, they see a light from the ventilator and a low whistle.
  • They go into Dr. Roylott's room and see Dr. Roylott dead in his chair and they see the speckled band. They realize the speckled band (swamp adder) killed Julia and Dr. Roylott.
