  • I have killed Macdonwald, for he was a TRAITOR!

  • Angus and Ross, who are two Scottish noblemen, bring Macbeth to King Duncan so he can be named Thane of Cawdor.  This is because the previous one was executed due to treason and because Macbeth was an honorable and brave man. Macbeth is very confused and wonders if the other predictions are true.

  • The Thane of Cawdor begged for forgiveness, but accepted death and died. Duncan makes Macbeth Thane of Cawdor and gives him lots of appreciation and praise for his bravery.  Banquo doesn't receive any title or appreciation for his bravery. He felt a little jealous.

  • Macbeth wondered if he needed to commit murder in order for him to become King.

  • Banquo's kids will be King
  • Macbeth explains to Lady Macbeth (his wife) everything that happened with the witches and that he might have to kill Duncan. The wife fears that her husband is too good to kill someone. She prays and wishes to not feel guilt or remorseful so that nothing stops her from killing Duncan, and prays that nothing stops her and Macbeth from killing Duncan.
  • Her husband tells her that King Duncan is in town for ONE night. She tells him to look like a flower (innocent) but be a serpent (evil). 
  • The witches predicted that Banquo's children and descendants will be King. The witches disappear, making Macbeth and Banquo think they were possibly hallucinating.
