Gandhi's life began on October 2nd, 1869 in Porbandar, India. This is also where he spent all of his childhood.
When Gandhi was in his adolescent years he decided that he would go study to be a lawyer at a college in Great Britain. After he graduated Gandhi traveled to south Africa, but he was treated as a second class citizen because he was not native there.

After his time spent in South Africa Gandhi realized that his real dream was to lead peaceful protests against Great Britain and gain India independence.
After many people started to notice Gandhi and his peaceful protests he decided to start the Salt March. This march lasted 24 days and Gandhi and his followers walked all throughout India. This took place during March 12th to April 6th in 1930.
Not long after the Salt March The British finally granted India with independence on August 15th, 1947. This was a huge day and accomplishment for India and Gandhi will always be remembered by it.
One day when Gandhi was headed to a meeting he was assassinated by getting shot three times at the chest. His last words were "Hey Ram" meaning god. His death took place on January 30th, 1948. Even though. he was assassinated Gandhi will always be remembered and known as a hero of India.
