Citizens who fought the war to gain the river west of the Appalachian mountains weren't allowed to go to the river, and they didn't like that. they were mad at Britain because they fought for something they can't use, but some of them did it anyway.
Boston massacre of 1770
The stamp act had a huge impact on the war because the citizens were mad that they had to pay taxes on things that are expensive to use in the first place. They took up their anger but no one listened, they liked the British less at this point.
Tea act of 1773
They added taxes to even more things which made the citizens even more mad. They taxed them on using paper and other goods. The citizens didn't like the British at this point but now they had set them off.
Intolerable act of 1774
The Boston Massacre was a big fight that happened between British soldiers and citizens. There were 5 people found dead after the fight and only 2 British soldiers were arrested. This made the citizens even more mad at the British for not arresting more than just 2 murders which made them want to start a war way more than before.
The tea act allowed citizens to only buy tea from one place at a high cost. Some of the colonists went the back way and got tea from other places. The citizens had enough of Britain, this was the last straw.
Closed until you PAY!!!
In 1774 Britain put out a set of rules meant to punish the colonists. They had closed all the ports in Boston until the colonists agreed to pay the tea taxes. Colonists were furious with Britain for not giving them right, they were treated like prisoners. Colonists were going to do something about it.
