Section 1Muhammad is born in Mecca (570 CE), a thriving town found in Arabia. He was brought food and culture from being in a city meant for trade.
The Rejection of Muhammad's Teachings
Section 2Muhammad learned how to manage caravans as a merchant, and tend his family's flocks of goats and sheep. He married Khadijah at 25.
Section 3Muhammad goes to a cave that calls him to be a prophet in 610 CE. He was visited by an angel named Gabriel, who told him about the teachings of God. Muhammad learns that he is the messenger of God.
Section 4Muhammad's teachings were refused by most Meccans to prevent the spread of the prophet's message. Most people called him a liar, and some persecuted his follower. Muslims still refused to give up their faith.
