- Washington started his career during the Revolutionary War. He served as the head of the Revolutionary Army for 5 years, and went through many hard times, such as Valley, forge, but through hard work and determination, he and his army managed to get the British to Surrender in 1781.

- After the war, the US needed a president. Washington was the immediate choice, and he became the first ever president. He set the example for other presidents for how to negotiate treaties, how to select members for the cabinet, how to appoint judges, and more

- After his presidency, Washington only lived for 2 years. During this time, he spent time tending to Mount Vernon, a former plantation of his. He died on December 12,1799 due to illness. Even though he's dead, his influence on this country will never be forgotten
