  • Ohio's constitution was written in 1803 where 35 delegates convened to draft it.
  • OK fine!
  • We need A constitution!
  • We need a strong government
  • The U.S Constitution was written in 1787 and signed by many at the constitutional convention. It was meant to establish a strong government for a large country
  • The difference between the two constitutions is immense, the U.S. constitution is meant to govern and entire country which means rules that every state must follow, however, Ohio's constitution was meant to govern a much smaller area with rules that only apply for Ohio and no other state. Also, the sate government is run by a governor, state courts, and state legislatures, while the U.S. government is run by an executive branch, legislative branch and judicial branch.
