Storyboard Text

  • The Outer Frame
  • Can a cube that does exist for any time at all, have a real existence?
  • TT Meets the Eloi
  • Year 802701
  • He struck me as being a  very beautiful and graceful creature, but indescribably frail.
  • Eloi Life
  • There were, perhaps, a couple of hundred people dining in the hall, and most of them, seated as near to me as they could come, were watching me with interest, their little eyes shining over the fruit they were eating.
  • The Time Traveler explains to a group of friends that he believes in a fourth dimension, through which it is possible to time travel. His dinner guests think is joking, but the scientist is not kidding around; he intends on travelling into the future.
  • Sunset of Humanity
  • We are kept keen on the grindstone of pain and necessity, and, it seemed to me, here was that hateful grindstone broken at last!
  • When he lands in the garden beside the White Sphinx, the TT soon meets the Eloi.  They look different from the race in the time of the TT. They are smaller, more beautiful, and very frail. The TT can not tell the men from the women.
  • Missing Machine
  • Can you imagine what I felt as that conviction came home to me? But you cannot! The Time Machine was gone!
  • The Eloi live in once-grand buildings, speak another language, and eat exotic fruits.  Their language is sweet and strange, but they soon get very uninterested in the Time Traveler.  They have short attention spans.
  • Meeting Weena
  • I caught the poor mite and drew her safely to land.
  • He finds the Eloi to be happy and healthy but considers their state a “sunset” of humanity because everything harmful seems to have been eliminated erasing the intellectual curiosity, passion, and energy.  He believes the Eloi are descendants from the aristocratic society.
  • The TT finds the time machine missing, and he deduces that it has been dragged inside the pedestal of a colossal statue.  This revelation scared the TT, but he is comforted in knowing that he took a piece of the machine off and put it in his pocket. It could not have gone into time.
  • The TT meets Weena when he saves her from drowning in the Thames river.  She immediately attaches to him and follows him around. They become friends, and he believes she is brave and childish.
