One day people from all over the world were migrating from the east and came upon a valley.
Then the people decided to make a city so they wouldn’t be spread out, and a tower that went into the clouds, so they could make a name for themselves.
Then the Lord came down and looked at what the people had made. He is disappointed in the people for trying to be a God like him, so he mixes up their languages and scattered them from the city to all over the earth.
Then the people stopped building their city, and couldn’t understand each other.
And this is why the city is called Babel because the Lord confused the people’s speech all over the world.
