Amelia is a middle age proud mother of two kids, Ashley 12 and Elijah 16. Amelia is a store clerk at a local department store making 20,230 a year which is barely enough to provide for her family. Since Elijah was young he noticed the struggles his mom went through and wanted to help
One day Amelia was talking about wanting to provide a better home for her kid to her friend. So her friend informed Amelia about a government program by the name of Housing choice voucher progrAm which is better known as section 8. So the next day Amelia contacted Social services and applied and had to wait 30 days to get a letter so wether or not she qualifies.
After waiting 30 days Amelia got a letter in the mail stating that she qualifies which means that she can move into a better home within a community that does not exceed 50% of the median income for her community. Another benefit is that the PHA will provide 75% of it’s voucher to applicants whose income does not exceed 30% of the areas income which means that will won’t have to stress as much over bills.
The Shepard family moved into the home the next week which the kids were very excited about because Elijah gets his own room. Elijah also doesn’t have to stress about helping his mom pays for bills and now he can afford to buy the new Xbox that he has wanted for quite some time.
Ashley is overjoyed that she can now play with her dolls in her room and invite her friends over to sleep over.
Now that Amelia has been provided support she is happy that her kids are overjoyed and that every night they have a bedroom also a nice hot meal to eat every night before going to sleep.
