in 1492, columbus opened the new world to europe which started all the travelling to america. he wasn't in texas but he did find tribes when he entered the new world. he ended up in america on accident because he was looking for a new route to india.

in 1521, cortez took over what is now mexico and what was new spain. He destroyed the homes of Aztecs although they were all very beautiful homes and environment. When he conquered Mexico, he inspired others to travel to new places especially the territory of North America. .

In 1519, Pineda was known for mapping the coast of the pacific. He was ordered to explore new areas to find routes to the pacific. He did map the coast but was not able to route the Pacific Ocean.
1528 through 1536, Cabeza De Vaca shipwrecked his boat in search for gold in Florida. He never found the gold or glory but he did meet the karankawas and became something special to them. He explored more of texas and thought he saw a city of gold but all they were were adobe homes so when he got back to Spain, he told everyone.
1540 through 1542, cornado travelled to texas because he heard of cities of gold. He did travel to texas but he looked in the wrong places. He couldn’t find cities of gold because they didn’t exist but he did find the panhandle. During his exploration, he travelled through what he called the sea of grass.
1685 through 1687, La Salle was a French explorer who was looking for the Mississippi River but got lost. When he found texas, he ruled the state for about 2 years befor he was murdered by his crew. By ruling over texas he made the spanish paranoid and the spanish wanted to explore and settle in texas rather than just explore it.
