- Napoleon Bonaparte was a successful General and he took over the French government by leading a coup. He made many reforms such as improving politics and editing the civil code. He also made peace with the Catholic Church. Napoleon named himself a burger because he thought he was great.
- I declare myself emperor of France!!
- The Napoleonic wars were a series of conflicts that were fight between the European coalitions and the French empire under Napoleon. At first, they were successful but then later it was all undone and Napoleon was defeated. These wars also resulted in the capturing of Egypt, Belgium, Spain, Portugal Holland, and a portion of Germany.

- Napoleon was defeated in the battle of Waterloo. This ended the Napoleon wars and it also ended his title as emperor. After this, Napoleon was sent to Elba in exile. He got back to France by escaping Elba and sailing there. After the wars, there was a necessity for changes in society. this was also an end to the French Revolution. in Europe, nationalism rose because there was a common hatred for invaders.
