This act stated that you had to buy tea from the British East India company, and that put limits on trade in the colonies. The Boston Tea Party was an event organized by the Sons of Liberty. They were dressed as Native Americans and went on to British ships, and dumped millions of dollars of tea into the Boston Harbor, in protest of the Tea Act.
  • The Intolerable Acts were passed becuase of the Boston Tea party. The British closed down Boston Harbor, and passed the Quartering Acts- which stated that the colonists had to let the Redcoats take shelter in their homes. The British also terminated the Massachusettes Colonial Legislature.
  • In reaction to the Intolerable Acts, 12/13 of the Colonies met and discussed ways they could resist the British Intolerable acts, such as boycotting.
