Chapter 8

Wes, Tony, and two others robbed a jewelry store and stole $438,000 worth of stuff. After keeping everyone in the store at gunpoint, they left in there getaway cars where sergeant Bruce followed them, and got shot and killed. Police came to search for Wes and Tony at Mary's house, and many places but didn't find him for a while. When they found him and Tony, Wes decided to take his case to trial. He was found guilty of first degree felony murder. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. This scene from the book was important because this was a a big deal. He was working on himself and then went and did this, but now that he's in jail he has become a lot better of a person. Going to jail and doing what he did really was the game changer in his life. At the end it talks about how his life is different, and I think him going to jail actually benefited him.
