Sappho was born around 615 a.d. She was the child of a wealthy family, and had a good education. When she married, she was inspired to become a poet. Many people criticized her, but she still did it. when she caught her husband cheating, she jumped of of a cliff.
While writing, she was noticed by Plato. He recognized her as a influential female poet. While excavating tombs in Egypt, scientists found scrolls of her work. Many are still in love with her many works, but sadly some work of hers was never found.
Sappho is very well known in today's history. She is well reconized by the organization of national poets.You can find many of her works in today's muesam. All of her work is well worded, and inspires young writers to fulfill their dream.
