Today friends, I'm going to teach y'all how to protect yourselves from identity theft!
Identity theft is the deliberate use of someone else's identity, usually as a method to gain a financial advantage or obtain credit and other benefits in the other person's name, and perhaps to the other person's disadvantage or loss.
Thieves can steal your information via the internet or sometimes by mail. Identity theft can even come from stealing wallets or important documents.
If you become a victim of identity theft, there are a few things you could do: 1. Notify your bank(s) and money sources 2. Put a credit freeze on your reports 3. Contact the police
Here are a couple of ways to protect yourself from identity theft!
1. Use strong passwords 2. Protect your mail and never leave a paper trail 3. Keep your Social Security Number safe 4. Don't take your sight off your credit cards
