  • Identity Theft 101
  • Today friends, I'm going to teach y'all how to protect yourselves from identity theft!
  • Identity theft is the deliberate use of someone else's identity, usually as a method to gain a financial advantage or obtain credit and other benefits in the other person's name, and perhaps to the other person's disadvantage or loss.
  • Thieves can steal your information via the internet or sometimes by mail. Identity theft can even come from stealing wallets or important documents.
  • If you become a victim of identity theft, there are a few things you could do: 1. Notify your bank(s) and money sources 2. Put a credit freeze on your reports 3. Contact the police
  • Here are a couple of ways to protect yourself from identity theft!
  • 1. Use strong passwords 2. Protect your mail and never leave a paper trail 3. Keep your Social Security Number safe 4.  Don't take your sight off your credit cards
