In the Samarkand market, there were multiple merchants advertising their goods but I knew that I needed to get glass beads. Because of this, I went straight to the man's stand and began to barter with Cheng at my side.
I suggested the to trade of seven silk robes for nine glass bead chains. The Persian merchant attempted to barter lower but, in the end, he agreed to my deal.
Cheng and I left feeling proud that our first trade had been successful and fair. We look forward to continuing our trading on the rest of our journey.
