While charging during one of the battles of the American Civil war, one of the men's leg was hit with a cannon ball and was broken. He was rushed to a field hospital.
He was delivered to the field hospital along with many other soldiers who where injured. He was rushed inside.
Once inside, the nurses saw that his leg needed to be amputated. Unfortunately, since the south didn't have any good medical supplies, all that he had to deal with the pain was a Minnie Ball between his teeth and a someone holding him down as the nurse started cutting. e later died of infection due to the unsanitary environment in the field hospital.
