  • Cell membrane consists of the phospholipid bilayer where active transport occurs.
  • Active Transport is the movement of particles  from a low concentration to a high concentration. This also requires energy in the form of ATP Carrier proteins is needed for active transport
  • Endocytosis is when the cell membrane engulfs particles that are outside the cells Phagocytosis is when it ingest food or large particles Pinocytosis is when it ingest water with small solutes
  • Exocytosis is when the cell membrane releases the particles outside of the cell
