Andrew Jackson leads American troops in an attack against the native Creeks, during which upwards of 550 Creeks are killed.
Nearly Over -- December, 1814
British forces sail into Chesapeake Bay and launch an offensive on Washington, D.C. British soldiers set fire to any government building in sight, including the White House and Capitol.
10,000 British soldiers enter New York from Canada in hopes of seizing Plattsburgh. However, following the defeat of British naval forces in the area, the invaders retreat back into Canada.

American and British representatives meet in Belgium and sign the Treaty of Ghent. However, soldiers were not informed of the treaty until January of 1815, when the Battle of New Orleans is fought.
