  • Odysseus, master mariner, takes his men to the island of Cyclops, named Polyphemus.
  • "Strangers, who are you? And where from? What brings you here by seaways-- a fair traffic? Or are you wandering rogues, who cast your lives like dice, and ravage other folk by sea?"
  • The Cyclops traps Odysseus and his men in his cave, and he asks of Odysseus's name.
  • My name is Nohbdy: Mother, father and friends call me that.
  • "Cyclopes, try some wine."
