Storyboard Description

Kacey is helping his friend Maria learn Spanish.

Storyboard Text

  • Hola, Maria.
  • No problemo, let`s get started.
  • Hola, Kacey. Thank you for helping me with my Spanish today. I`ve been having a lot of trouble with it.
  • I`ve been having trouble with conjugations. Can you explain them to me?
  • When you have verbs with the endings er, ar, and ir, you replace the endings with what corresponds with the subject.
  • Of course! Like English, certain words have different endings depending on if they are in the present, past, or future tense. But in Spanish, word endings also depend on who`s talking.
  • Here`s an example. Yo como, means I eat.
  • To say you eat in Spanish, you say tu comes.
  • Yes, it does. Thanks for explaining.
  • Would you like me to explain some more and help you practice?
  • Does that make sense, Maria?
  • El fin.
  • Actually, can we take a break? Talking about eating made me hungry.
  • Haha, okay. Come on, I have snacks in the kitchen.
