Everyone is waiting for the trial to start. The men with titles are sitting in the back behind the line of stools. The woman are off to the side and the two groups that stood in the front are about to be in trial.
Odukwe tells his side of the story
The Egwugwu's appeared for the trial. The woman and kids ran away. After all nine sat down, the trial started with the Evil Forest leading the it.
Evil Forest calls up the two witnesses
Uzomulu talks about how his in laws came over to his house and beat him, then taking his wife. When his wife did not return, he went to the in laws house and asked for the bride price back that he paid for. They said no and that is how they got to this point.
The Evil Forest makes up his mind
Odukwe said that Uzomula was correct about them coming to his house to beat him up and take his wife away. He then adds that Uzomula was a monster and he beat his wife every day. Two years ago he beat his wife so bad that she had a miscarriage and then Uzomula says that it is not true.
The Evil Forest calls up the two neighbors, who are witnesses to the beating that happened a year ago. They both agree to it.
The Evil Forest says to Uzomulu, "go to your in laws with a pot of wine and beg for her back." He then states that "It is not bravery when a man fights with a woman."
