Dairy cows are forced to live in filthy and cramped conditions, where they are kept alive for a quarter of what their natural life span would be until they are slaughtered for their meat after a lifetime of being kept forcibly pregnant.
Just like humans, a mother cow produces milk for her baby, and only produces milk when she is pregnant and nursing. Her baby is taken away from her in order for the milk to be collected for human consumption. She is usually artificially impregnated four times in her life.
Research conducted by licensed health professionals shows that milk and dairy products are the top source of saturated fat in the American diet, contributing to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease.
