A long, long time ago, there was a lot of racism in Jackosn, Mississippi. As a matter of fact, all over Mississippi. Everything was segregated and life was hard for Black people. My grandad was born in 1945 and moved to St. Louis City in 1965. Can you imagine how hard it had to be to live you entire childhood knowin there were limited opportunities for black Americans and ther was nothing you could do about it? You learn that the cards are not always in your favor!
when he moved to st.louis in his early 20's he boxed he said he would never lose so he made a bit of money to get a place then he met my grandma and my dad was born and then he got a job at ford he made enough money for his family .then a few years later he got a new house and he made a landscaping business
Then he met my grandma and they bought a house and moved in together and then that is when he saw an opportunity he could take so he made his own landscaping business and they made enough to keep the house and take care of themselves. In his childhood, he just hoped he could just get a job and then if he knew what he becomes with moving from a state with a few dollars desperate for an opportunity to prove himself to what he is today that is just mind-blowing. He came from nothing to something.
