Can't wait to eat it up! We can finally eat after so long!
that's not right! I must alert our neighbour and the official!
Upon hearing the news of having to go to court for killing and eating his neighbour's buffalo, he thought of a devious plan to trick his barbet into thinking the weaather was thunderous to fool the judge and ensure the leftovers weren't found.
AAA IT MUST BE SO THUNDEROUS TONIGHT!
This is what you get! You should have sided for me!
The next day at court..
The judge proceeded to ask of the weather last night, the barbet, of course, responded incorrectly.
Sigh... Master is so silly..
Are you sure you can trust the foolish bird's words? I'm sure it'll lie about the weather last night too!
We shall listen to the barbet's words...
Upset and disappointed on how his people had trusted the birds, he ordered for all of them to be banished to the forest and the case closed.
A brightly coloured parrot asks the barbet why he was alone in the forests. The barbet explains of how his kind were banished for speaking the truth, and that if the parrots were captured it would be dangerous for them too.
I see.. so they only wish to listen to the words they want to hear, and only want to hear that!
Thus, these birds learnt to only mimic and repeat words spoken by their owners, keeping their own honesty and opinion to themselves.
