Storyboard Text

  • The Mayan Civilization started in the 6th century, and stretched across parts of present-day Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and El-Salvador.
  • The Mayans created aqueducts. Aqueducts are important because the water can be used for the whole town, and for running water in the palace and other buildings.
  • The Mayans had a complex calendar with 365 days, this calendar is important because it is similar to the calendar that we use today with 365 days on it.
  • The Mayans created the only complete language made from glyphs in Mesoamerica. This is important because the Mayans have a full language to speak from.
  • There are many theories about how the Mayan civilization ended, here is four of them: 1. Warfare, 2. Disease, 3. Famine, and 4. Environmental Change.
  • I don't think Famine could have caused the Mayan civilization to collapse because they had lots of crops and different ways to farm them in different climates.
