My name is Fern, and my parents immigrated here from Chile about 20 years ago, to have a better life for them and their family. However, they struggled financially and did not understand English very well.
OBSTACLES OF MY DREAM
My dream is to become an immigration lawyer (or any kind of lawyer at least). I have watched my parents struggle over the years, always making sacrifices for me and my siblings.
HOW WILL I ACHIEVE THIS DREAM
In somewhat recent times, I have seen on the news where immigrant children, have to represent themselves in court, after being separated form their parents. these children did not speak the language, were not provided a lawyer, and were too young to understand. I was able to have an emotional connection to these children watching my parents struggle over the years.
However, there are obstacles to my dream. One being that the education will be very expensive. Law school and all the years in college will be very costly. Additionally, there will always be a chance that I won't be able to get a student loan or financial aid. I will also have to study very hard in law school.
In order to achieve my dream, I will have to study hard in school to get good grades. I will also have to find a way to make myself standout to colleges so I can get accpeted.
