- On a ride with Butter
- Yes, I have landed in Kent, Hitler
- Quick, Butter, to the Police station, hurry!
- Back in town
- Yay, Ada!!!
- I am so proud of you, Ada!
- Our little spy catcher!
- Hooray!!!
- A few days later
- No.
- Mummy?
- Jamie, we are GOING HOME. Come ON! Exuse me who are you?
- ADA?!
- Did you see me jump that fence Susan, Jamie? Wait, Mam?
- It's me, Mam. Ada.
- One day while Ada is riding butter, she spots a man climbing out of a boat with a briefcase. She suspects he is a spy, and runs to tell someone before he sees her.
- Back in Kent, First night of The Blitz
- RUN, JAMIE, RUN!!!
- A few days later, everyone knows about Ada catching the spy. People make a big fuss of her, and she feels like she really belongs in the village, just like she was born there. She is fitting in at last.
- Outside the broken museum, after the bombing
- Ada? Jamie? Let's go home.
- Ada and Jamie love Susan much more than their own Mam. They have settled in very well, and learned to love their new home. One day, Ada is riding Butter, when they jump the fence instead of going around! Ada is ecstatic, but sees an unwelcome visitor, waiting by the paddock...
- Back at home
- The house... It's been hit!!!
- Mam takes them home to London, even though they both beg to stay. She goes out to work, and leaves them alone. Just before she goes, Ada asks why she came to get them. She said it was because it cost 16 shillings a week to keep them away. Ada asks if she really wants them. Mam tells them the truth. She never wanted either of them. Ada tells her they will go away for nothing. Mam asks is that a promise? Ada says Yes. They are brokenhearted. When she is gone, the very first bombs come. Ada doesn't have her crutches. Mam took them. Jamie is petrified. They cannot find a shelter. They are in terrible danger.
- AAAAAAAAAAH!!!
- After the bombing, the streets are reduced to rubble. They spot a blonde figure in the distance, desperately picking her way through the rubble towards them, calling their names. It is Susan, come to get them back!
- S-S-Susan?
- Mummy?
- After several long train journeys, they arrive home for good, to find the house is gone! Susan is gobsmacked. But at least they are all safe and sound, and together at last.
- So now we're even.
- You two saved my lie, really, you did!
