  • Civilization: Ralph and Piggy find that they are stranded on the island. Ralph blows the conch for the first time and they both realize that there are more boys on the island. This is the point where the boys are the most innocent. This represent civilization because throughout the story the conch is used as a way to gather everyone together and this is the first time it is introduced.
  • Civilization: The boys create a fire so that they can be rescued. They are still working together and the majority are still in favor of Ralph being the leader. Even if Jack decided to go off with his group of hunters there isn't any major conflict yet between Jack and Ralph.
  • We have to keep the fire going if we want to get rescued
  • Civilization: Everyone works together to build shelters so that they can all be safe. This represents civilization because all of the boys are sticking together and they are all protecting each other. Still no chaos has risen.
