  • Colonists wanted to settle in the Ohio River Valley and trade with the Indians who lived there. Great Britain gained all the land east of the Mississippi. Spain gained all the land west of the Mississippi. France lost all of its land in North America .
  • Stamp Act (1765)
  •  King George 111 didn’t want to start a war with the Indians. So the colonist got upset that they couldn’t go to the Ohio River to trade with the Indians. The colonist went there any way.
  • Quartering Act (1765)
  • The British needed to pay off the French and Indian War. The Sugar Act was a law that attempted to curb the smuggling of sugar and molasses in the colonies by reducing the previous tax rate.
  • Forming of the Sons of Liberty (1765)
  • The colonists must of had to pay a tax for every piece of paper they buy because they are trying to get money and to pay for soldiers to stay in America. Victory in the war had saddled the British Empire with a tremendous debt.
  • TAXED!
  • King George 111 made the chose to send more soldiers to America to protect the colonists. King George 111 taxed them and they had to give them food which the colonists need them selves.
  • We need quarters to live in. You have to do it because the king said so.
  • The Sons of Liberty helped the colonists from the new laws and taxes the British were giving. A violent brawl through the night, the mansion’s cupola was taken down and destroyed.
