  • The Siege of Vicksburg occurred from May 18th to July 4th, 1863, led by General Grant, it was also the first Union victory of the war.
  • HOLEY COW!
  • RUN!!!
  • General Grant puts two walls of artillery, blocking supplies to come in for the Confederates, and basically trapping them.
  • Please leave, my men are starving!
  • Fine, but you can't bring any of your slaves with you.
  • Grant stays for 47 days and Confederates are starving and exhausted, because they haven't got any supplies.
  • Yes sir!
  • Good job everyone, lets keep moving.
  • Grant orders his soldiers to dig tunnels under Confederate camp and place explosives, which causes a huge explosion.
  • Generals from both sides meet and compromise, and Grant says he will leave them.
  • Although Grant was the one who withdrew from the Confederates, it was still a Union victory.
