The Tejas refused to accept being Spanish so eventually the Spanish stopped funding the mission because they had not converted a single native. Hidalgo believes the mission for the Tejas is a good idea so he sends a secret letter to the French telling them to make a mission. However the French are caught and "questioned" before they can found the mission.
