Why, as teenagers, would you put your life at risk while driving ?
You think you're tough, tougher than another car ? Well i have some news for you, unless you're superman, you are not stronger than another car.
Knowing this, why would anyone not wear a seatbelt ??
Did you know that according to the national highway traffic safety administration, more than half ( 53- 59 %) of teenagers ( 13-19 ) and adults aged 20 - 44 years old who died in car crashes in 2014 were not wearing seatbelts at the time of their crash.

Out of all drivers,teen drivers are the least likely to buckle up. This despite having the highest accident rate out of any other driving demographic per 100,000 drivers. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for 15 to 20 year olds in the United States. The majority of these deaths involve unbuckled teens, drivers, and passengers.

According to a research poll taken by the insurance institute for highway safety, teens cited seat belts as being "potentially harmful" as their main reason not wearing them. States have been amping up their laws to promote awareness for wearing seatbelts.
With all of this information on how teenagers like you and me don't wear seatbelts and reap the consequences their decisions, I hope that all of this shows you that it is a necessity to wear a seatbelt, no matter how "uncomfortable or bothersome" they are.
