  • Most people use their debit/credit cards everywhere they go. Some of the easiest places for your identity to be stolen is at the local coffee shop or supermarket.

  • You can prevent yourself from being a victim of identity theft by: shredding documents, checking your mail and locking the mail box every day, protecting your Social Security Number, and only entering financial information on official, secure websites.
  • If you realize your card is gone within two business days then you're only responsible for $50 worth of the unauthorized charges.
