Hey Sam, I am entering the science fair, I am doing an article on how to stop your tent blowing away. I am going to test out different tent pegs.
Wow, that sounds so cool, tell me more!
Well, I used lots of different types of tent pegs to do the tests. Some pegs I also hammered on more than others. To test how durable each of the pegs is I tied some rope around the pegs, then threaded the rope through the sticks I used to make the tent, and then hung a bucket of ropes off the end.
Wait, I'm confused, what is a tent peg!
When you go camping and have to put up a tent you will use tent pegs to keep your tent on the ground. Tent pegs are made from metal, and most are bent at one end, you hammer in the end that isn't bent into the ground and you hook the string under or around the bent side. There are lots of different types of tent pegs, I tested out Stainless steel and aluminum tent pegs, which both had a normal hook on the end, there were also older aluminum tent pegs, that had V-shaped hooks. Another type of peg that has V-shaped hook is small aluminum pegs. I also tested handmade wood ones that had a notch at the end and Plastic brown ones that had a T-shaped hook.
