Dear, Johnsy, think of me! What would I do without you?
Something has made that last leaf stay there to show me how bad I was.
The next day, Johnsy asked Sue to open the curtain. They found the very last leaf was still hanging on its branch. Johnsy was sure that a storm would blew the last leaf that night.
He's very ill
But the next morning, the leaf was still there. It made Johnsy realize that it was wrong to be wanting to die. She finally agreed to have a meal.
Finally, the doctor said that she would get well if Sue gave her a good care.
But then, he said that he would go to see another sick person. It turned out to be Behrman that was sick of pneumonia too.
Mr. Behrman finally passed away after two days of his sickness.
Sue then found out that he got pneumonia from painting the last leaf in the middle of the storm, only for Johnsy to keep her last hope to live. It was his masterpiece he had talked about all this time.
