Antigone has been found by the guard burying her brother,Polynieces. King Creon had previously forbid his burial.
"I saw her burying the corpse that thou hadst forbidden to bury." (Sophocles 477).
Creon is asking Antigone if she knew that he had forbid the burial of Polynieces.
"...knewest thou that an edict had forbidden this?"(478).
Antigone's loyalty to her family is captured in this scene. She risks her life to bury her brother even though it went against King Creon's edict.
"So for me to meet this doom is trifling grief; but if i had suffered my mother's son to lie in death an unburied corpse, that would have grieved me..."(479).
