  • I'd really like to start spending my money in a way that makes a difference
  • Me too, but I'm just so overwhelmed with choices. I don't even know where to start.
  • It's also hard to know which are genuine and actually support the entrepreneurs.
  • I know. I can't imagine there are Yelp reviews on companies that support this mission. Do you just google 'small companies that support woman and third world countries'?
  • One of the people at Meet and Greet has a cousin in Nigeria who makes jewelry for a subscription box. I don't know much about it, but it's supposed to support good causes.
  • Beth and Joan are in the lunchroom discussing their desire to buy products that support female entrepreneurs or fair trade products promoting artisans from third world countries
  • My understanding is that there's a subscription box that features women, sustainable products, products that support entrepreneurs in third world countries, and products that give some back to charity. It sounded cool, I just don't know the name.
  • They discuss strategies they could use to find entrepreneurs and global artisans but soon find they really don't know how to make good choices that support their end goal.
  • That sounds perfect! Maybe at the next Meet and Greet, you can ask for the name, if you don't mind.
  • Luckily, Trevor enters the lunchroom and happens to overhear the conversation. Trevor has recently started to go to networking events supporting small businesses and has met some people from around the world.
  • I just love Causebox! The items are really unique and I especially love the little book that tells you exactly how much money has been given to charity and the ways that the entrepreneurs have been impacted. What a clever company!
  • Trevor goes on to further describe what he knows about the subscription and how it works.
  • Beth and Joan are ecstatic, as it gives them a place to start and to learn about different artisans/companies and an opportunity to give back.
  • Two months later, Beth and Joan have learned the name of the subscription, signed up, and are happy to share their experiences with the arrival of their first box.
