  • Oligarchy declined (wasn't accepted) because some leaders were very harsh and acted out, stopped believing in rulers
  • The people were innocent until they were proven guilty. There is opportunity for unreaosonable laws to be set aside
  • The branch of the government was called assembly's. The assembly's allowed other classes of people to be a part of
  • The Magna Carta was a document that was used as a peace treaty.
  • The Bill of Rights was another document, by letting people know that England didn't hold much power
  • Thomas Hobbes, the man who started the leviathan, which was where all people were naturally equal
  • John locke, he sided with the protestant parliament (takes away power from king james the second) which gave the power to the people

  • The mayflower finally landed in Cape cod, in september 6th, 1620
  • The house of Burgesses was the first elected legislative body which took place in Virginia, in 1643 to 1776 and was the first elected legislative government in english north america
  • the lower house of the general assembly was from the Commonwealth of virginia, Sir George Yeardley selected the name "the lower house"
