  • In 1985, the head of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, announced the act of Perestroika
  • I now bring you... Perestroika! This act will help reconstruct our government and society.
  • Later that year, Gorbachev introduced the policy of Glasnost. But both Perestroika and Glasnost failed
  • I now bring you... Glasnost! This act is for all the citizens to speak freely and voice their opinion about our government.
  • In the war, the Soviet Union took over small countries and put Russians in charge.
  • We are so happy! The war has ended and each republic is free to become its own!
  • While the War was going on, the USSR took over East Germany and the United States took over the West. While East Germany was heavily watched and feared, West Germany was free.
  • The Berlin Wall has collapsed! We are free from East Germany!
