  • In this scene the plane that all of the boys were on crashed on an abandoned island and there isn't a single grown up on it. Piggy and Ralph meet on the beach and their characters are introduced. Piggy is fat and smart. Ralph is strong, funny, and reasonable.
  • Climax
  • In this scene the power struggle began between Ralph and Jack. Ralph wanted to keep order and be civilized. He was the voice of reason among the boys. Jack wanted the boys to become savage and he didn't care about being rescued. He represented chaos and anarchy.
  • Falling Action
  • In this scene Ralph was struggling to keep order among the islanders. The lack of rules caused chaos among the children. This situation allowed Jack to take control by using fear and brute force. The pig on a stick represented the fear and chaos in the children's souls
  • Resolution
  • In this scene piggy is killed by Roger when he dropped a boulder on him. This marked the end of`order on the island. After this point Jack took complete control of the group. Ralph was forced to flee into the jungle to avoid being captured by Jack and his goons.
  • In this scene Jack and his crew were searching for Ralph in the jungle but they couldn't find him so they decided to burn down the entire jungle. Ralph was forced into the open by the fire and the boys chased him all the way to the beach.
  • In this scene the boys are rescued by a naval officer. He claimed to have seen the fire and gone over to check it out. When the boys saw him they snapped back to reality and immediately fell to their knees and cried because they were ashamed.
